Imagine drifting into a comfortable, dreamlike state in your dentist’s office, as he or she performs the dental treatment you need. This is possible with sedation dentistry. Thanks to sedation dentistry, an hours-long dental appointment can feel like mere minutes!
Voted Best Dentist in Solano County seven years in a row, Dr. Bruce Bosler does his utmost to put all of his patients — from the youngest to the oldest — at ease during their visit. The Vacaville dentist is pleased to offer oral sedation to ensure his patients have a comfortable and stress-free dental experience. Whether you are in need of a routine dental cleaning, treatment to repair a broken tooth or wish to whiten your teeth, sedation dentistry with Dr. Bosler can help you regain a healthy and beautiful smile with no pain or discomfort.
Sedation dentistry can benefit patients who have:
Sedation dentistry can be used for virtually any dental procedure — from routine cleanings to dental implant placement and oral surgery. Before administering sedation, Dr. Bosler will review your medical history in order to determine if you are a suitable candidate for sedation dentistry.
Oral sedation is administered through a blue pill that patients will need to take before their procedure (typically the night before). Patients will need to have a loved one drive them to our office the day of the procedure. Because oral sedation does not relieve pain, a local anesthetic may be administered before your treatment in order to minimize discomfort. Dr. Bosler or a member of our trusted team will be present during every step of your procedure in order to monitor your safety and comfort. During your treatment, you will be able to respond to our team’s questions and requests.
Oral sedation will put you in a dream-like, relaxed state. In fact, some of our patients have likened the feeling of being under oral sedation to being on vacation on a remote and peaceful island. The effects of the blue pill can take up to 24 hours to wear off, so you will need to have someone drive you home after treatment, where we recommend you take a soothing and relaxing nap. Once you are fully awake, you will have little, if any, memory about your procedure. What you will notice, however, are the changes to your smile!
