What to expect:
Composite bonding can be completed in just one visit to our practice. The first step of treatment is to clean the tooth and select the exact shade of resin that will be used. Next, we work carefully to remove any decay that is present. Once the tooth is fully clean, composite material is applied to the tooth in multiple layers. After a layer has been applied, a dental curing light will be used to harden the layer before adding the next one.
When the desired thickness has been achieved, the composite material will be allowed to fully harden. At this point, the tooth is buffed and polished, providing it with an even finish and a natural appearance. Once the process is complete, the patient will be given important instructions on how to care for the bonding. With proper care, the bonding should last for up to 10 years.
